Matcha is making waves as the new superfood chefs are using it to create mouth-watering dishes all over the world. The use of Matcha Maiden’s powdered green tea is not limited to sweet treats anymore. We tried using the powder to prepare pasta and the results were unbelievable. When our co-founders confessed to having tried the salsa verde recipe, we weren’t convinced until we tasted this heavenly dish ourselves. We love the aroma created when green tea powder is cooked with green vegetables and grilled tuna. But that’s not all.
What makes salsa verde recipes a wonderful development is its nutritional value and mood-boosting quality. In fact, you’d be surprised to know that the matcha green tea powder is packed with antioxidants that boost metabolism and help burn fat. Have you ever tasted pasta that was so healthy? If not yet, get your hands on Matcha Maiden’s green tea powder and try this recipe immediately. We assure you will love how green tea blends well with cooked pasta.

This recipe could not be easier to make and yet, it is absolutely packed with flavour. We love keeping it simple with a good quality pasta and the salsa verde sauce but it is also delicious with mixed green vegetables and grilled tuna.
- 150 grams spaghetti of choice
- 1 cup finely chopped fresh herbs (dill, basil, parsley)
- 50 grams organic capers, drained and chopped
- 1 tsp lemon zest
- 2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1-2 tsp matcha powder
- Cook spaghetti according to manufacturer’s instructions.
- Meanwhile, mix all other ingredients in a small mixing bowl. Allow the sauce to sit for flavours to infuse while pasta is cooking.
- Toss salsa verde through freshly cooked pasta.
- Serve and top with toasted pine nuts (optional).
Quantity – Serves 2.
